Notes on this record
What emerges when the official register data are compared with the press sources collected below.
- Sources report that the discovery was initially linked, hypothetically, to a woman who went missing in July 2022 in a boating accident at the Argentario: the hypothesis was ruled out by DNA testing in the following days, and the body remains without a name.

Punta Ala, cadavere in spiaggia: indagini serrate ma è mistero
The article suggests that the body might be that of Anna Claudia Cartoni, a 60-year-old teacher from Roma who went missing on 23/7/2022 in a boating accident at the Argentario. This hypothesis was later ruled out by DNA testing (see the Il Tirreno article of 29/12/2022 in this same record): it is not an identification, and should be read only as a news report of a hypothesis at the time of discovery.

Cadavere su Punta Ala, forse è di Anna Claudia Cartoni
Suggests the identity of Anna Claudia Cartoni, a teacher who went missing on 23/7/2022 in the boating accident at Argentario (an earlier recovery operation in October 2022 had already proved negative for her). This lead was ruled out by DNA a few days later (see Il Tirreno, 29/12/2022): this is not a confirmed identification.
